]]>The new Sienna Woodland Special Edition, in the available exterior colors Cement (exclusive to the Sienna Woodland Edition) or Midnight Black Metallic, offers a beautifully distinctive exterior and premium interior styling with the versatile features one would expect from the fourth generation Sienna. Designed with a focus on versatility and comfort combined with class-leading projected 35 EPA-estimated combined MPG, the Sienna Woodland Edition comes standard with:
And with the flexibility and roominess to fit people, pets and recreational gear – the Sienna Woodland Edition also comes standard with features like super-long-slide second-row captain’s chairs, flexible seating and cargo layout with Split & Stow 3rd Row® Seat, kick-activated sliding doors, heated front driver & passenger seats, sunshades in the 2nd row and a total of seven USB ports across all three rows.
Electronic On-Demand All Wheel Drive
The new generation Sienna is the only vehicle in its segment that combines a hybrid powertrain with AWD, and the system is available on all model grades for an exceptionally attractive price. For the 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition, drivers can now enjoy standard Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive System with increased ground clearance.
Instead of a heavy AWD transfer case and space-robbing driveshaft to the rear wheels, this AWD system uses a separate independent electric motor to power the rear wheels the instant additional traction is needed and at all vehicle speeds.
Like the hybrid system, the Hybrid AWD system works seamlessly and transparently. During off-the-line starts, Hybrid AWD pre-emptively sends up to 80 percent of driving force to the rear wheels to help prevent front-wheel slip. The Hybrid AWD system also enhances cornering agility by helping to reduce understeer, giving the Sienna a more confident handling feel.
Torque distribution then varies with conditions, from 100:0 in constant-speed driving to 20:80 on slippery surfaces. Torque distribution is indicated on the Multi-information Display.
Class Exclusive Safety Features
In addition to exemplary collision protection provided by the TNGA-K Platform, the 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition, come standard with second-generation Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 2.0), a comprehensive active safety system that includes:
Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection is designed to provide automatic braking capability should the driver not react in time in certain emergency situations. The PCS system is not only designed to detect a vehicle ahead, but it can also detect a bicyclist and even a pedestrian in low light situations. Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) is standard on all Sienna models, as well.
Toyota Limited Warranty
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehiclewarranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and against perforation from corrosion for 60 months with no mileage limitation. Hybrid-related components that require repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship are covered for 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first from original date of first use when sold as new. The HV battery is covered for 10 years/150,000 miles, whichever comes first, and is transferrable across ownership.
The 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition also comes with ToyotaCare, which covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance, for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 2 years of Roadside Assistance, regardless of mileage.

Sienna: All-New from the Foundation Up
The fourth-gen Sienna, designed by the combined effort of CALTY’s Newport Beach, CA and Ann Arbor, MI studios, delivers a combination of room, comfort, convenience, fuel efficiency and versatility. Starting with an all new minivan structure based on the TNGA-K Platform, the goal was to optimize everything that is great about minivan function, while wrapping it all into a bold, sexy, and provocative design, expanding the definition of what a next generation minivan should be.
“This is an all-new vehicle from the ground up, including a new chassis platform as well as a new electrical platform,” said Chief Engineer Monte Kaehr. “The development of the fourth generation Sienna was a huge undertaking but we always worked towards one single mission—to make the best van yet.”
This bold and innovative approach enabled the design team to create strong and robust proportions with a shoulder-themed body design, and muscular wheel flares that express athleticism. The body surface is boldly sculpted, a fresh departure from the typical, boxy minivan driving on the roads today.
The front design was inspired by the iconic Shinkansen Japanese Bullet Train to appear sleek, speedy and confident. The headlights are mounted high and stretched around to the sides as if they are being shaped by the wind. The bold lower grille is contrasted by slim, high tech LED fog lights that are pushed to the corners, enhancing the wide and stable stance.
In the spirit of optimizing interior roominess while avoiding a boxy design, the rear cabin features a speedy pillar that is dynamically angled forward. The taillight flows seamlessly from the sculpted body to the rear, using thin bands of LED lighting to create a signature impression. There is an integrated black taillight canard that not only looks cool, but also improves aerodynamic performance. The crisp, deeply sculpted tailgate with an integrated spoiler is made possible by a molded resin process.
The ultra-sporty XSE model amps up the excitement, sportiness and driving experience to a level never before seen in minivans. With dark 20” split 5 spoke wheels and aggressive front and rear bumpers that are unique to XSE, this model looks like it was born on a racetrack.
Bold Design Meets Spacious Interior
Toyota called the third-generation Sienna a “swagger wagon,” but the 2021 model takes it to a whole new level.
Learning from today’s minivan customers that they do not want to feel like they are driving a bus, the design team took this to heart and thought carefully about how to combine the practical attributes of a minivan with the emotional desire for having a more personalized driving experience.
The key terms used to redefine the minivan experience were Confidence, Refinement, and Smart innovation. With this in mind, a modern instrument panel was created of bold, horizontal layers to express a wide and spacious interior, with a large center touch display, handy storage capability, and the innovative Bridge Console, which is the key to allocating personalized space to the driver and front passenger.
The Bridge Console is an innovative solution that is a departure from common minivan layouts. The bridge is ergonomically positioned high between the driver and passenger for ease of use, and elegantly connects the instrument panel to the center armrest. This unique feature enables the driver to have a more stress-free and comfortable driving experience. The shifter and necessary functions are all within easy reach, along with cup holders, available wireless charger, and ample storage bins for smaller items. Beneath the bridge is a large open area for convenient storage of larger personal items such as a purse or bag.
To further celebrate the interior spaciousness, the available Super Long Slide second-row captain chairs slide 25 inches, providing unprecedented legroom and flexibility to maximize comfort, especially when used with the available ottoman feature. Even large adults can relax comfortably. With all the features, the best seats of any row in the segment!
The Sienna LE and some XLE models come equipped in eight-seat configurations with a stowable middle seat. Some XLE models, as well as the XSE, Limited and Platinum are seven-seat models featuring the Super Long Slide second-row captain’s chairs with the Limited and Platinum FWD models equipped with ottomans.
There are smart solutions and first-class comfort throughout the interior to make this the most sophisticated, versatile and enjoyable Sienna ever.
Safety
In addition to exemplary collision protection provided by the TNGA-K Platform the 2021 Sienna comes standard with second-generation Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 2.0), a comprehensive active safety system that includes:
Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection is designed to provide automatic braking capability should the driver not react in time in certain emergency situations. The PCS system is not only designed to detect a vehicle ahead, but it can also detect a bicyclist and even a pedestrian in low light situations. Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) is standard on all Sienna models, as well.
The 2021 Sienna is equipped with 10 airbags: driver and front passenger airbags; driver’s knee airbag; passenger seat cushion airbag; front seat side airbags; rear outboard seat side airbags, plus curtain side airbags for all three rows. Toyota’s Star Safety System includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
Toyota takes safety a step further with features like a rear passenger seatbelt reminder and electric parking brake (EPB) – as well as a new feature called Rear Seat Reminder. Designed with family safety in mind, the rear occupant detection is based on door sequencing logic in which the Combi Meter MID provides a warning “Attention: Check Rear Seat for Passengers and Cargo.”
Confident Driving Performance
To give the Sienna driver confidence to compete with all the SUVs on the road, a natural and intuitive connection between the driver and the vehicle is achieved with the optimized geometry of TNGA-K Platform combined with a trailing-arm multi-link rear suspension and increased body rigidity.
A Quiet Place to Make Some Noise
Like all Toyota vehicles built on the new TNGA-K Platform, the 2021 Sienna benefits from a multitude of measures that bring library quiet to the cabin. In particular, Toyota engineers focused on reducing noises in the frequencies where conversation takes place.
The high-strength TNGA-K Platform resists noise intrusion and curbs vibration through the steering, floor and vehicle structure. Extensive, strategically placed noise insulation and body sealant further keep outside noises where they belong – outside.
Of course, with all the onboard connectivity Sienna offers (seven USB ports, available WiFi, optional JBL 1,200-watt amp/12-speaker Premium Audio and 1080p HD rear entertainment system), conversation is just one of the things made better by the quieter cabin.
If interior noise level should rise, say, due to a minor altercation between certain young passengers, Sienna’s unique available Driver Easy Speak is the driver’s best friend. Introduced on the third-generation Sienna, this feature is essentially a built-in PA system that carries the driver’s voice through the audio system’s rear speakers right to the source of the disturbance.
In short, the Sienna offers all of the luxuries of a large SUV, but with room for a family, (7) USB ports and up to 18 cup holders.
Seeing the Invisible
The Sienna has always offered a high, broad view of the road that instills a feeling of confidence behind the wheel. The high seating position and big windows make the Sienna an excellent sightseeing machine, while privacy glass behind the front row means passengers are not riding in a fishbowl.
Over the years, the Sienna has augmented its excellent outward visibility and sightlines with technology to see more of what’s behind and around the vehicle. The 2021 model delivers the latest generation of that tech:
Hybrid Done Right
The 2021 Sienna driver might not even notice the new model’s most significant engineering advance: the hybrid powertrain. That’s the point. The Toyota Hybrid System II delivers 245 total horsepower and an EPA-estimated 36 combined MPG fuel economy, the latter setting a benchmark for the segment, all while operating seamlessly and transparently.
The Sienna driver will feel ultra-smooth acceleration and hear very little noise. What is noticeable is the kick in low-speed torque from two electric motors working in concert with the high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine.
Critically, the Sienna has no plug, and there is no need to ever recharge the hybrid battery pack, and certainly no need to spend a couple of thousand dollars installing a battery charger in a garage. The Toyota Hybrid System II charges the hybrid battery automatically as the vehicle drives.
Many Sienna owners have been repeat customers; a 2021 might be their second, third or fourth Sienna over the years. They’ll appreciate that, like all past models, the new version is strictly gas-and-go, but now with fewer stops for gas thanks to the hybrid system’s efficiency.
The Sienna, though, does offer some performance-control surprises. Selectable EV, NORMAL, ECO and SPORT driving modes let the driver tailor the van’s driving personality. NORMAL mode is ideal for everyday driving; SPORT mode improves acceleration response; ECO mode extracts maximum mileage from the fuel and battery, and EV mode allows electric-only driving at low speeds for short distances.
The driver can use a sequential shifting feature to “downshift,” which increases the regenerative braking in steps. It’s ideal for driving in hilly areas, for example, acting as a lower gear while increasing recovered energy sent to the HV battery. As a bonus, the Sienna’s hybrid system enhances ride smoothness by finely controlling the drive torque to suppress pitch and dive under acceleration and deceleration.
The Sienna benefits from Toyota’s 20+ years of global hybrid leadership and well documented quality, dependability and reliability. Plus, the powertrain warranty covers all hybrid-related components., There’s even a 10 year/150,000-mile HV battery warranty including the HV battery, for 10 years/150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Gearheads buy vans, too. They’ll be intrigued by the gas engine’s 41-percent thermal efficiency, one of the highest of any internal combustion automobile engines on the market (excepting other Toyota hybrid models). The gas engine employs Variable Valve Timing-intelligent system by Electric motor (VVT-iE) on the intake camshaft, and VVT-i on the exhaust camshaft. A variable cooling system (electric water pump and electric thermostat) and a fully variable oil pump further improve engine efficiency.
The Hybrid That Thinks About Fuel Economy
A 7-inch color Multi-information Display within the instrument panel includes a Hybrid System Indicator to show system output and regeneration status and encourage eco-driving habits. As on other Toyota hybrid models, the display suggests the optimal acceleration amount for eco driving and provides a game-like scoring function for the driver.
Using navigation system operation (when equipped), Predictive Efficient Drive (PED) analyzes driving habits and memorized road and traffic conditions to optimize hybrid battery charging. When the driver activates PED, the system learns repeating routes and can predict when and where the vehicle is likely to slow down or stop. Then, through optimum accelerator pedal release timing guidance, the feature can reduce energy consumption, especially when driving through hilly areas or in traffic congestion. All the owner has to do is drive. Sienna will optimize fuel economy on its own.
Electronic On-demand All Wheel Drive
Sienna has long offered optional all-wheel drive, and the 2021 model is no exception. The 2021 Sienna is the only vehicle in its segment that combines a hybrid powertrain with AWD, and the system is available on all model grades for an exceptionally attractive price.
Sienna uses a new kind of AWD called Electronic on-demand AWD.
Sienna, the Entertainer
Got devices? The 2021 Sienna offers a smorgasbord of connectivity and entertainment, with new Toyota Audio systems offering something for everyone aboard:
Sienna Feature Highlights
In the Toyota tradition, the 2021 Toyota Sienna comes well equipped in the LE grade and adds more amenities and tech in the higher grades. Options are conveniently grouped in the LE Plus, XLE Plus and XSE Plus packages.
The Limited and Platinum grades have no packages but do offer two factory options: Digital Rearview Mirror and 1080p HD Entertainment Center with 11.6-in. display, HDMI input, remote control and two wireless headphones (also optional on XLE and XSE). A 1,500-watt inverter is also available for XLE grade and above.
The sporty XSE and lavish Platinum grades fill their wheel wells with standard 20-inch aluminum clad wheels with P235/50R20 tires for FWD – the first-ever 20-inch wheels on a Sienna. (A minivan can look snazzy without giving up room.) While the Limited FWD grade comes standard with 18-inch wheels.

]]>The post How the 2020 Sienna Is Helping Small Business Owners Get Back on the Road appeared first on Toyota USA Newsroom.
]]>A compatible cruiser, the Sienna is adaptable with the choice of seven- or eight-seat cabin configurations and 60/40 Split & Stow 3rd Row® seat, so it’s fully equipped to get everyone — and everything — everywhere they need to go.
Now more than ever, communities are rallying around the small businesses that make such a positive impact in their communities. That’s why Toyota created a program designed to showcase small businesses and help entrepreneurs rebounding from the pandemic.
With top safety features, ample storage space, and room for family, friends, or pets, the versatile Sienna is equipped with the tools to help small business owners do more with their vehicles.
Here are 5 things that small business owners love about Sienna.
Designed for daily life
With space for storage, without sacrificing sportiness, the Sienna is a compatible cruiser ready to help drivers tackle the day’s to-do list.
For Claire Baldwin of Polish & Power Tools, the versatility of the Sienna means she only needs one vehicle, no matter what she’s working on that week. Baldwin is a woodworker who designs and crafts custom furniture and décor, so she’s often working on projects, doing installs, and completing deliveries all at once.
“During my time driving the Sienna, I really realized that I don’t just do one thing, and neither does the Sienna,” she says. “A typical day is never the same for me and realizing how versatile my business is helped me discover that my mode of transportation has to be versatile as well!”
Baldwin used the Sienna to create a mobile wood shop, to take advantage of the cargo space¹ and towing a trailer² to bring along all of her tools and supplies. With an outlet in the back to charge her power drill, the woodworker could set up a full “woodshop on the go” to complete an install.
An extra set of eyes
As the owner-operator of Lawrence & Clark Cacti Co., Kimi Daft knows that transporting plants and the accompanying materials can sometimes be a complicated process. Daft is often hauling large items like wheelbarrows, dirt and gravel, and cumbersome cacti — plus two kids. When the small business owner sets up her mobile shop in the Sienna, she is sure to take advantage of the van’s high-tech features like the roll-away sun screen, which she uses to help protect sensitive plants, and the backup camera display³ integrated in the head unit.
“The back-up camera has to be one of the most incredible features I have ever seen in a vehicle,” she says. “The overhead 360° view has made backing out of tight spots so much easier. We have kids and pets at home and often customers walking through the parking lot, so having a full view makes a world of difference.”
In the L&C mobile shop, the deep rear compartment acts as an on-the-go potting station, storing bins and large bags of gravel, while hanging plants are organized on the interior handles. Most importantly, the Sienna’s safety technology helps the small business owner feel more confident transporting her important cargo between shop locations.
Room for everything (and everyone)
The Sienna is an exemplary people-mover, with the choice of 7- or 8-seat cabin configurations and storage options that don’t sacrifice space. With the Tip Up and Long Slide feature, the seats can be easily moved to adjust room for passengers or cargo, making it perfect for growing businesses like retailer The Tiny Tassel, owned and founded by Mimi Striplin.
“Driving the 2020 Sienna has given us the extra space we need to fulfill our orders,” she says. “We have also added to our team here at the Tiny Tassel and the extra leg room for our team has been great!”
Striplin, who spruced up the inside of her Sienna with The Tiny Tassel’s signature pink, finds the space and comfort of the vehicle ideal for entrepreneurs and their teams to hit the road together. The second-row captains chairs feature dual armrests, leg and foot support, and an easy-release mechanism and wide sliding doors for seat removal. Plus, in the 7-seat configuration, the second-row chairs can slide back 23 inches, creating enormous legroom for passengers.
Space to get creative
Like many small businesses, the COVID-19 pandemic caused husband and wife duo Clifton and Tiffany Hancock to go about their business a little differently. As the owners of the Southern V, a vegan, Southern style restaurant in North Nashville, the Hancocks took their operation on the road to serve mobile vegan lunches to their community.
“Our brand can participate in more outdoor events utilizing the Toyota Sienna to assist with transport and operations,” Clifton says. “We used the Sienna for our physically distanced, drive-thru event.”
While the Hancocks served lunch, the couple’s daughters set up a lemonade stand in the Sienna next to the vendor tent. They decorated the interior in sunshine yellow, stored the coolers in the cargo area, and stayed organized with tables nightstands so the girls could maneuver while staying cool in the summer heat.
“After receiving their vegan lunches, guests drove up to the van to discover two smiling faces,” Tiffany says. “The excitement of the patrons was palpable as they were shocked to see them inside comfortably serving lemonade!”
Travel in comfort
Because Craig Conover’s small business Sewing Down South does a lot of travel for the brand’s signature Pillow Parties, comfort and convenience on the road is a must. Though Conover has not done a lot of travel recently for safety reasons, the Sienna’s advanced features like Tri-Sync temperature control and 4.2-inch color information display has him excited to get back to it.
“We really miss traveling and meeting with fans of the brand,” Conover says. “The Sienna makes transporting on the go a breeze with ample space, and Apple CarPlay®4 is great for calls and tunes. We can’t wait to get back to our Pillow Parties and back on the road!”
Although the brand used the Sienna primarily for transportation so far, the comfortable travel and space availability in the minivan inspired Conover to start to think about a more permanent Pillow Party Mobile Van to throw Pop-Up Pillow Parties along the way to larger events. While the cargo space is great for transporting a small business’ large loads, Conover does admit that his team needs to learn how to pack pillows better in order to permanently go mobile!
For 2021, the Sienna brings more style and versatility to small business owners. Check out the all-new Sienna, here.

]]>Altair Engineering has presented Toyota Motor North America with its prestigious Enlighten award. The award recognizes Toyota’s work, with the support of supplier partner BASF, in substantial lightweighting of Sienna’s folding third-row seats.
The lightweighting effort was lead by Toyota Senior Principal Engineer for Body Design, Todd Muck. Working with BASF, Todd and his team reduced the heavy, 15-piece steel seat frame to a new one-piece resin seatback. The industry-first seatback is lighter, easier to assemble, and less expensive to produce. While all of the improvements are important, it is the seat’s lower weight that provides the most direct benefit to the customer.
“Reducing the seatback’s mass (weight) provides the customer with several benefits,” Said Muck. He continued, “Less weight can improve fuel economy. Or, we can use that saved weight in other areas, such as adding new features like the built-in refrigerator.”
However, Muck says the most apparent benefit is the reduced effort it takes for customers to raise folded third-row seats to their upright position. “Our new design has made lifting the seats much easier,” he said. “With the previous design, it would take more than 24-kilograms (53 pounds) of force to raise the seat. The new design requires less than 9-kiograms (19 pounds) of force.”
The all-new Sienna was designed and engineered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is manufactured in Princeton, Indiana. It goes on sale later this year.

The Toyota Hybrid System II delivers 243 total horsepower and a manufacturer-estimated 33 combined MPG fuel economy, the latter setting a benchmark for the segment, all while operating seamlessly and transparently.
NORMAL mode is ideal for everyday driving; SPORT mode unlocks boost from the hybrid system for improved acceleration response; ECO mode extracts maximum mileage from the fuel and battery, and EV mode allows electric-only driving at low speeds for short distances.
Plus, the powertrain warranty covers all hybrid-related components, including the HV battery, for 10 years/150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Toyota Limited Warranty
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items.

]]>Nightshade Edition for 2020 Sienna
For the 2020 model year, the Sienna SE and SE Premium trims (in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations) will now be offered in the Nightshade Edition. Starting at just $700, the Nightshade Edition adds a black sport mesh front grille, black door handles, black 19″ wheels (18″ for all-wheel drive), a black spoiler, black mirror caps, and black Toyota badges. The package is only available with four exterior colors – Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Salsa Red Pearl, and Super White – and one interior color – black.
Great Options on All Grades
For 2020, the Sienna will continue to offer an AWD drivetrain option for the SE grade. The Sienna SE AWD features 18-in. 6-spoke gunmetal-finished alloy wheels with P235/55R18 tires; as well as 7-passenger seating with removeable perforated leather-trimmed second-row lounge seat captain’s chairs with long-slide feature. The existing SE Preferred Package receives Rear Park Assist Sonar and Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with JBL® w/ Clari-FI, Dynamic Navigation and App Suite for 2020, and is optional on SE AWD and standard on SE Premium AWD; Power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade is also optional on SE AWD and standard on SE Premium AWD. Additionally, for 2020, the existing Outdoor Package remains optional on SE AWD and SE Premium AWD.
The 2020 Sienna LE Preferred Package includes Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), smart key system on all doors with push button start and remote illuminated entry.
The Toyota Safety Features Standard
For 2020, Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) still comes standard on all grades equipping each Sienna with Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
The standard Toyota Star Safety System equips the 2020 Toyota Sienna with Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
The Sienna is equipped with eight Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags, including dual-stage front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger, side curtain airbags in all three rows, a front passenger seat cushion airbag plus a driver’s side knee airbag. Active headrests in both front seats help to reduce the possibility of whiplash in certain types of collisions.
The available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) on SE (standard on XLE and Limited) uses sub-millimeter wave radar designed to detect vehicles in the Sienna’s blind spots. When the system detects a vehicle in the adjacent lane, it alerts the driver using indicators on the side mirrors. If the turn signal is activated when there is a vehicle in the blind spot of the driver’s intended lane, the indicator on the corresponding mirror will flash. Rear Cross Traffic Alert can be especially helpful alerting the driver of a crossing vehicle when backing out of a driveway or parking space using an audible and visual alert.
A Powerful Cruiser
The Sienna is a powerful cruiser with the D-4S direct-injection V6 engine and Direct Shift – 8AT 8-speed automatic transmission it received for 2017. It’s a quieter cruiser, too, on certain grades thanks to a new acoustic windshield (SE only) and laminated front-row side window glass (Limited only). The Sienna driver is better informed with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display and, exclusively for the Limited Premium grade, an available Bird’s Eye View monitor. This practical machine offers nine sophisticated colors: Celestial Silver Metallic (replacing Silver Sky Metallic), Super White, Blizzard Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic, Predawn Gray Mica, Salsa Red Pearl, Alumina Jade Metallic, Toasted Walnut Pearl and Parisian Night Pearl.
The 2020 Sienna remains a compatible cruiser with standard Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay® compatibility, plus five USB ports covering all three rows. The L grade gets Toyota Entune 3.0 with Connected Navigation (Scout® GPS Link with Moving Maps). The LE, SE, and XLE grades get Entune 3.0 Audio Plus with Safety Connect, and not to mention, WiFi Connect for up to five mobile devices for 4G LTE coverage (also standard on Limited).
The XLE can be upgraded to Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and App Suite. Limited grades come standard with Entune 3.0 Premium JBL® Audio with Dynamic Navigation and Destination Assist with Sound Staging, Low Frequency Sounds, and Clari-Fi technology for amazing sound quality. The available Rear Seat Entertainment system also includes streaming capability for Android devices.
Room for All, and Then Some
The Sienna remains the family-friendly van, with the choice of 7- or 8-seat cabin configurations, up to a massive 150 cu. ft. of carrying space, and a comprehensive array of available multimedia systems. It’s available in five grades: L, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited. Toyota Mobility also offers the LE and XLE with an Auto Access Seat having a 330-lb. lift capacity. The Sienna is still the only van in the segment offering available all-wheel drive.
The Sienna’s 3.5-liter V6 produces 296 horsepower and 263 lb.-ft. of torque, and, in partnership with the transmission’s eight ratios, makes the Sienna a rapid hauler, indeed. All-wheel drive with active torque control is available for the LE, XLE, and Limited, providing an important all-weather traction advantage that is not found in any other family van. The standard Tow Prep Package allows the Sienna to pull a 3,500-pound-max load.
Sporty Attributes
With its unitized body with anti-vibration sub-frame, MacPherson front and torsion beam rear suspension and Electronic Power Steering (EPS), Sienna delivers a solid, direct on-road feel. The SE grade brings stylish projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lamps (DRL) and smoke-look trim to the Sienna formula. Its sportiness goes beyond just looks, though: it rides atop a sport-tuned suspension and exclusive 19-inch wheels and tires. Inside, trim-specific instrumentation and heated and powered front black-leather-trimmed seats with white stitching complete the SE’s impressive list of exclusive traits.
Space Craftiness
The Sienna remains at heart an exemplary people-mover, offering an expansive cabin that’s comfortable for up to eight passengers (or seven with the available second-row captain’s chair seating). Stow the Sienna’s third row seats and remove the second row to open up 150 cu. ft. of available cargo space, all easily accessible from the wide, dual sliding doors. A power liftgate comes standard on SE, XLE and Limited grades. The Sienna can even carry 4×8-ft. sheets of plywood – a DIYer’s necessity.
The available seven-seat configuration is sure to please both adults and children, thanks to second-row captain’s chairs that slide 23 inches rearward to reveal enormous legroom. Or, if young children are riding along, drivers can position the second row of seats closer to the first row to ease their access to child passengers. The Sienna is equipped with four LATCH locations for securing child seats.
The Sienna Limited FWD’s standard second-row is made up of twin lounge seat captain’s chairs covered in premium leather-trim. The seats feature dual armrests, leg and foot support, and an easy-release mechanism when seat removal or repositioning is desired. Also on the front wheel-drive Limited, a sliding center console is accessible to both front seats and second-row passengers.
On eight-passenger models, the second-row center seat can be removed and stowed in the left side of the rear-storage area, leaving a cup holder and storage tray between the two remaining seats. Regardless of cabin configuration, all second-row seats provide easy access to the third row.
With the Tip Up and Long Slide feature, the seats can be easily moved forward and back on extended rails, adjusting room as needed for passengers or cargo. Sliding the second-row seats all the way to the rear creates a walk-in aisle, making it easier to enter, exit, install a child seat, or place a child in a seat. Storage bins, spaces, and cup holders galore are on every Sienna grade.
The 60/40 Split and Stow third-row seat folds flat with one motion and is made even easier in the Limited FWD model with its power seat lowering and raising functions. Even with the third-row seats in use, the Sienna still possesses enough cargo capacity to hold five golf bags or four large suitcases. Handy grocery hooks in both rows add storage convenience. Roof rack crossbars are available for even more cargo carrying possibilities.
Designed with Family in Mind
Sienna makes sure shuttling the family is a low-stress but enjoyable experience. A Tri-Sync switch for the air conditioning lets drivers manage temperatures in all three climate zones with individual temperature settings for driver, front passenger and rear-seat passengers and a separate rear digital control panel. The available push button driver’s seat center armrest can adjust to numerous positions and can return to its last position even after it’s been stowed. Cold hands will appreciate the Limited’s standard heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Keeping eyes squarely on the road is the idea behind the 4.2-inch color TFT information display (MID) placed within the instrument panel in the driver’s line of sight. It’s standard on all grades for 2020. Audio channels can be controlled via the four-way switch located on the multifunction steering wheel. The MID is linked directly to the Entune multimedia system and is able to display turn-by-turn navigation information. On AWD models, the MID can also show all-wheel drive operation, which can indicate the vehicle’s response on slippery surfaces.
Convenience Features for a Busy Family
Parents should never take their eyes off the road to check on the kids. That’s what the standard conversation mirror integrated into the overhead console is for. It gives the Sienna driver an all-encompassing view of rear passengers. The available Driver Easy Speak feature, meanwhile, essentially gives the driver a built-in public address system. Using the microphone in the Sienna’s voice-command multimedia system, Driver Easy Speak projects the driver’s voice through the audio system’s rear speakers. (“Stop annoying your little sister!”)
On any commute, the value of the available Dual View Entertainment Center, which uses two viewable displays within a seamless 16.4-inch widescreen image, will be immediately apparent. Used as a single screen, it can be easily seen from the third row. The system features Blu-Ray capability, an HDMI input, and an SDXC card reader that can play 10 different audio and video formats. It can play from one or two separate sources as well, and the option also includes a pair of wireless headphones. Passengers in any seat can operate the entertainment system via remote control.
Entune Multimedia
Every available Entune head unit integrates a backup camera display and Siri Eyes Free mode – and comes standard with Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay®, connectivity. On Entune 3.0 Audio Plus and above, head units come with SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 3-month trial of SiriusXM All Access Trial, HD Radio, HD Radio traffic, Wi-Fi Connect and weather in major metro areas.
The SE Premium and XLE Premium feature Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, while Limited and Limited Premium feature Entune JBL® Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite.
Entune App Suite includes mobile apps Destination Search, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Yelp, and Slacker Radio. Entune data services include a fuel price guide, sports scores, stocks, traffic, and weather. Entune apps are opened by pressing a switch on the steering wheel, then speaking the name of the app. Voice commands operate the app. The audio unit can download new Entune apps as they’re developed, including the necessary voice recognition components. Access to Entune App Suite is subscription free. (See toyota.com/entune for details.)
Connected for Safety
The Sienna Limited and Limited Premium grades come with the added assurance of Safety Connect telematics technology. Its one-year included trial subscription covers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), and Roadside Assistance.
Developed specifically for the North American market, the Sienna was primarily designed by Toyota’s Calty Design Research Center in Newport Beach, Calif., developed in part at Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., and is assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana.
Limited Warranty
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation.
Standard ToyotaCare is a complimentary plan covering normal factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

]]>To expand these features to current owners, Toyota is excited to announce that both Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility can be added to 2018 Camry and 2018 Sienna vehicles.
“We are always striving to bring highly desirable services to our vehicles. This new program enables CarPlay and Amazon Alexa on some of our most popular vehicles already on the road.” said Steve Basra, vice president of Connected Technologies for Toyota Motor North America. “It’s a great opportunity to surprise and delight our existing customers.”
Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa installation will be performed at Toyota dealerships. All 2018 Camry and 2018 Sienna owners will receive a notification from Toyota encouraging them to contact their dealer for additional details or to schedule an appointment.
Separately, although Toyota has previously announced plans to install Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) technology for V2X on vehicles in the U.S starting in 2021, we have decided to pause our deployment at this time. This decision is based on a range of factors, including the need for greater automotive industry commitment as well as federal government support to preserve the 5.9 GHz spectrum band for DSRC. We will continue to re-evaluate the deployment environment as we work toward creating a safer and more efficient driving ecosystem.

]]>A larger lower grille and larger fog light compartments, plus sculpted lower rocker panels from the SE, give Sienna a road-hungry look across all grades. And why not for a family van?
The Sienna is a powerful cruiser with the D-4S direct-injection V6 engine and Direct Shift – 8AT 8-speed automatic transmission it received for 2017. For 2018, it’s a quieter cruiser, too, on certain grades thanks to a new acoustic windshield (SE only) and laminated front-row side window glass (Limited only). The Sienna driver is better informed for 2018 with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display and, exclusively for the Limited Premium grade, a new available Bird’s Eye View monitor. This practical machine offers three sophisticated new colors for 2018: Toasted Walnut Pearl, Alumina Jade Metallic, and Parisian Night Pearl.
The Sienna is also a more connected cruiser with upgraded Entune multimedia systems for 2018, plus five USB ports covering all three rows. The L grade gets Toyota Entune 3.0 with Connected Navigation (Scout GPS Link with Moving Maps). The LE, SE, and XLE grades gain Entune 3.0 Audio Plus with Safety Connect, and not to mention, WiFi Connect for up to five mobile devices for 4G LTE coverage (also standard on Limited).
The SE and XLE can be upgraded to Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and App Suite. Limited grades come standard with Entune 3.0 Premium JBL Audio with Dynamic Navigation and Destination Assist with Sound Staging, Low Frequency Sounds, and Clari-Fi technology for amazing sound quality. The available Rear Seat Entertainment system now includes streaming capability for Android devices.
Room for All, and Then Some
The Sienna remains ever the family-friendly van, with the choice of 7- or 8-seat cabin configurations, up to a massive 150 cu. ft. of carrying space, and a comprehensive array of available multimedia systems.
Sport + Van
With its unitized body with anti-vibration sub-frame, MacPherson front and torsion beam rear suspension and Electronic Power Steering (EPS), Sienna delivers a solid, direct on-road feel. The SE grade brings stylish projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lamps (DRL) and smoke-look trim to the Sienna formula. Its sportiness goes beyond just looks, though: it rides atop a sport-tuned suspension and exclusive 19-inch wheels and tires. The combination of sportier underpinnings and footwear sharpens the 8-passenger van’s handling on twisty roads. (Yes, a van that likes twisty roads.) Inside, trim-specific instrumentation and heated and powered front black-leather-trimmed seats with white stitching complete the SE’s impressive list of exclusive traits.
Power liftgate comes standard on SE, XLE and Limited grades.
Mother’s (and Father’s) Big Helper
Sienna makes sure shuttling the family is a low-stress but enjoyable experience. A Tri-Sync switch for the air conditioning lets drivers manage temperatures in all three climate zones with individual temperature settings for driver, front passenger and rear-seat passengers and a separate rear digital control panel. The available push button driver’s seat center armrest can adjust to numerous positions, and can return to its last position even after it’s been stowed. Cold hands will appreciate the Limited’s standard heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Keeping eyes squarely on the road is the idea behind the 4.2-inch color TFT information display (MID) placed within the instrument panel in the driver’s line of sight. It’s standard on all grades for 2018.
Keeping Rear Seat Peace
Every available Entune head unit integrates an integrated backup camera display and Siri Eyes Free mode. On Entune 3.0 Audio Plus and above, head units come with SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 3-month Complimentary SiriusXM All Access Trial, HD Radio, HD Radio traffic, Wi-Fi Connect and weather in major metro areas.
The SE Premium and XLE Premium feature Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, while Limited and Limited Premium feature Entune JBL Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite.
Entune App Suite includes mobile apps Destination Search, iHeartRadio, NPR One, OpenTable, Pandora, Yelp, and Slacker Radio.
The Toyota Safety Features Standard
New for 2018, Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) comes standard on all grades equipping each Sienna with Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
The standard Toyota Star Safety System equips the 2018 Toyota Sienna with Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
Connected for Safety
The Sienna Limited and Limited Premium grades come with the added assurance of Safety Connect telematics technology. Its one-year complimentary trial subscription covers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), and Roadside Assistance.

]]>Sienna, the top-selling van in the U.S. for the past two years, is assembled in America’s heartland at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Princeton, Ind. It is an ideal family-friendly van, with a choice of seven- or eight seat cabin configurations, ample cargo space and an array of safety, comfort and convenience features. Powered by a 3.5-liter V6 producing 296 horsepower and 263 lb.-ft. of torque, Sienna is available in L, LE, SE, XLE and Limited grades. For active families on the go, Sienna remains the only van in the segment with available all-wheel-drive (AWD).
The fuel-efficient Yaris hatchback represents a great value for buyers on a budget as it is the Toyota brand’s least expensive model, yet it is equipped with many standard safety and convenience features. Among the many standard carryover safety features is Toyota Safety Sense- C™ (TSS-C), a trio of driver-assist technologies that helps drivers get from point “A” to point “B” with safety assurance. TSS-C technologies include Toyota’s Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams.
Yaris offers both three-door and five-door body styles in two grades, L and LE, in addition to the five-door Sporty SE.
Neither Sienna, nor Yaris rests on its laurels for 2018.
Sienna Swagger
One year after the 2017 model year Sienna van ushered in a powerful and efficient new powertrain and led the segment in 2016 calendar year sales, the 2018 model adds many styling, and technological safety and convenience features.
For 2018, TSS-P will be standard on all Sienna models. This multi-feature advanced active safety suite bundles cutting edge active safety technologies including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA); and Automatic High Beams (AHB).
Sienna drivers will enjoy enhanced connectivity and entertainment through the new Toyota Entune™ 3.0 multimedia system on all models, offering an enhanced set of connected vehicle technologies.
The Entune 3.0 system will feature navigation and App Suite Connect for everyone. The Sienna L, LE, SE and XLE grades will come standard with the Connected Navigation Scout GPS Link with Moving Maps. Sienna LE, SE, and XLE grades will come standard with the Entune Audio Plus, which includes Safety Connect, and Wi-Fi Connect. WiFi Connect will allow up to five mobile devices to connect using 4G LTE.
For those wanting it all, the Limited comes standard with Entune™ 3.0 Premium JBL Audio with Dynamic Navigation and Destination Assist and features new advancements in sound quality. Sound enhancements include Sound Staging, which positions speakers directly in front of the listener to help emulate a live concert venue; Low Frequency Sounds, made possible by an added 10.1-inch subwoofer; Clari-Fi, a technology that “un-compresses” music to help restore an audio track’s dynamic range; and nine speakers that are specifically tuned to cabin dimensions and materials.
Additional technology updates include:
Exterior styling is updated with a redesigned front fascia that includes a larger, lower grille and a larger fog light compartment to convey a stronger presence. Like the current Sienna SE grade, side lower rockers have also been added to all grades for a sportier appearance. Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) improvements have been added to the SE grade with a laminated front windshield, and the Limited grade with new acoustic front row side glass.
The 2018 Sienna also offers nine exterior colors, including three new choices: Toasted Walnut Pearl, Alumina Jade Metallic, and Parisian Night Pearl.
Sporty Yaris
Designed and assembled in France, the Yaris builds on its European styling to add a sportier and more dynamic look for 2018. The updates start with both the L and LE grades receiving a new bold front fascia with a new grille and chrome accents. The SE grade will receive a sporty front fascia that features a new piano black mesh pattern grille surrounded by a chrome accent.
The refined new front is complemented by a modern restyled rear to help provide a wider look and stance. The rear design includes wider, horizontal tail lamps integrated into the rear door, new rear bumper with styling more in harmony with the rear door design, and a new lower bumper garnish with side reflectors to help portray a broader stance.
The SE is topped off with standard 16-inch Machined Alloy Wheels with dark accents.
Inside, the 2018 Yaris receives substantial audio and convenience updates that start with the L grade upgrading to a standard tilt, three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls. Both the L and LE will now receive the same Sport analog instrumentation currently on the SE grade. The sporty IP includes speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge; LCD display with odometer, tripmeters, clock, outside temperature, current/average fuel economy, distance to empty, average speed and shift position; ECO-driving indicator and warning messages (automatic transmission only).
Audio upgrades abound with the 2018 Yaris as both the L and LE grades will now be equipped standard with the same Entune™ Audio system available on many other Toyota models. The Entune™ Multimedia Bundle consists of:
The SE grade leaps to the next level as it will come standard with Entune™ Audio Plus with Connected Navigation App. This upgraded multimedia system consists of:
The Yaris will be available in eight exterior colors including two new selections: Blue Eclipse (replacing Blue Streak Metallic), and two-tone Blue Eclipse with a Black Sand Pearl Roof (replacing two-tone Crushed Ice with Black Sand Pearl Roof). Carryover colors will include: Super White, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Black Sand Pearl, Ruby Flare Pearl, and the two-tone Ruby Flare Pearl with Black Sand Pearl Roof.
The exterior color palette will be complemented with interior fabric choices of combined Black and Gray on L and LE grades, and all-Black on the SE grade.

]]>Of course, the Sienna remains ever the family-friendly van, with the choice of 7- or 8-seat cabin configurations, up to a massive 150 cu. ft. of carrying space, and a comprehensive array of available multi-media systems. It continues to be available in five grades: L, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. Toyota Mobility also offers the LE and XLE with an Auto Access Seat having a 330-lb. lift capacity. The Sienna is still the only van in the segment offering available all-wheel drive.
Power to the Van People
The Sienna now delivers a higher dose of driving fun in all situations and environments. Its new 3.5-liter V6 produces 296 horsepower and 263 lb.-ft. of torque, which represent increases of 30 horsepower and 18 pound-feet, respectively, over the 2016 Sienna. In perfect partnership with the transmission’s eight ratios, the new V6 bestows the Sienna with quicker acceleration and stronger passing performance.
The new transmission was developed as part of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), a wide-ranging design, engineering and manufacturing initiative to optimize all aspects of vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. The revised transmission incorporates new advances to expand lock-up range and enhance efficiency. Combined with enhancements from the new 3.5L engine, it is anticipated to receive higher fuel economy ratings of 19/27 MPG on the city/highway cycles for front-wheel drive variants, up from the outgoing edition’s estimated 18/25 miles-per-gallon.
All-wheel drive with active torque control is available for the LE, XLE and Limited, providing an important all-weather traction advantage that is not found in any other family van. The standard Tow Prep Package allows the Sienna to pull a 3,500-pound-max load.
The Preeminent “Sleeper”?
The Sienna’s Electronic Power Steering (EPS), unitized body with anti-vibration sub-frame, and MacPherson front, torsion beam rear suspension help deliver a solid, direct on-road feel. Upping the Sienna’s status as a “sleeper” is the SE, a trim that brings stylish projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lamps (DRL), sculpted side skirts, and smoke-look trim to the Sienna formula. Its sportiness goes beyond just looks, though: it rides atop a sport-tuned suspension and exclusive 19-inch wheels and tires. The combination of sportier underpinnings and footwear sharpens the 8-passenger van’s handling on twisty roads. Inside, trim-specific instrumentation and heated and powered front leather-trimmed seats with white stitching complete the SE’s impressive list of unique traits.
Expanding Space
Luckily, the nice dose of newfound power has not affected the 2017 Toyota Sienna. It carries on as a highly effective people-mover, offering an expansive cabin that’s comfortable for up to eight passengers (or seven with the available second-row captain’s chair seating). Stow the Sienna’s third row seats and remove the second row to discover up to 150 cubic feet of available cargo space, all easily accessible from the wide, dual sliding doors and broad tailgate (all available with power operation). The Sienna can even carry a 4-ft. by 8-ft. sheets of plywood should weekend plans include, say, building a tree house.
The seven-seat configuration can turn the Sienna into a pseudo limousine, thanks to second-row captain’s chairs that slide 23 inches rearward to reveal an enormous amount of legroom. Or, if little kiddos are riding along, drivers can position the second row of seats closer to the first row to ease their access to child passengers.
Also on the front wheel-drive Limited is a sliding center console that is accessible to both front seats and second-row passengers.
On eight-passenger models, the second-row center seat can be removed and stowed in the left side of the rear-storage area, leaving a cupholder and storage tray between the two remaining seats. Regardless of cabin configuration, all second-row seats provide easy access to the third-row. Storage bins, spaces, and cupholders abound are offered on every Sienna grade.
The 60/40 Split and Stow third-row seat folds flat with one motion and is made even easier in the Limited FWD model with its power seat-lowering function. Even with the third-row seats in use, the Sienna still possesses enough cargo capacity to hold five golf bags or four large suitcases. Handy grocery hooks in both rows add storage convenience. Roof rack crossbars are available for even more cargo carrying possibilities.
Comfort and Aid for Parents
With its front dashboard’s convenient design that neatly groups climate control, gearshift, and multimedia buttons, the Sienna makes sure shuttling the family is a low-stress experience. A Tri-Sync switch for the air conditioning lets drivers manage temperatures in all three climate zones without a fuss. The available pushbutton driver’s seat center armrest can adjust to numerous positions, and can return to its last position even after it’s been stowed. Cold hands will appreciate the Limited’s standard heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Keeping eyes squarely on the road – that’s the idea behind the multi-information display (MID) placed within the instrument panel sitting in the driver’s line of sight. The display comes in either a base 3.5-inch dot-matrix LCD, or, in the case of higher trims, a 4.2-inch color TFT (thin film transistor) screen. Either type provides the driver with all the pertinent vehicle and multimedia information in simple, easy to read format. Audio channels can be controlled via the four-way switch located on the multifunction steering wheel. The TFT MID is linked directly to the Entune multimedia system and is able to display turn-by-turn navigation information. On AWD models, this version can also show all-wheel drive operation, which can indicate the vehicle’s response on slippery surfaces.
Electronic Peacemakers
The standard conversation mirror integrated into the overhead console gives the Sienna driver an all-encompassing view of rear passengers. The available Driver Easy Speak feature, meanwhile, essentially gives the driver a built-in public address system. Using the microphone in the Sienna’s voice-command multi-media system, Driver Easy Speak projects the driver’s voice through the audio system’s rear speakers.
The value of the available Dual View Entertainment Center, which uses two viewable displays within a seamless 16.4-inch widescreen image, will be immediately apparent – and appreciated – by parents.
Entune Multimedia is in Tune with You
Multimedia and connectivity are essential to a family van’s utility. That’s why every available head unit integrates Siri® Eyes Free mode. The LE, SE, XLE’s Connected Navigation via Scout® GPS App Link for the Entune® Audio Plus system uses a customer’s smartphone to provide navigation functionality through the head unit. The four available Entune® systems include:
Each is equipped with Siri® Eyes Free and an integrated backup camera display. Using Bluetooth® wireless or a USB cable, users can pair a compatible smartphone to access popular mobile applications and data services. Then, use the Sienna’s controls to operate the apps.
On Entune Audio Plus and above, headunits come with SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with 3-month Complimentary SiriusXM All Access Trial, HD Radio, HD Radio traffic and weather in major metro areas.
With the premium Entune systems, the Entune App Suite includes mobile apps Destination Search, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable®, Pandora®, Facebook Places, Yelp®, and Slacker Radio. Entune data services include a fuel price guide, sports scores, stocks, traffic and weather. Entune apps are opened by pressing a switch on the steering wheel, then speaking the name of the app. Voice commands operate the app. The audio unit can download new Entune apps as they’re developed, including the necessary voice recognition components. Access to Entune® App Suite is subscription free. See toyota.com/entune for details.
The Toyota Safety Standard
The standard Toyota Star Safety System equips the 2017 Toyota Sienna with Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
The Sienna is equipped with eight Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags, including dual-stage front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger, side curtain airbags from the front seats to the third row, a front passenger seat cushion airbag plus a driver’s side knee airbag. Active headrests in both front seats help to reduce the possibility of whiplash in certain types of collisions.
The available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert on SE (standard on XLE and Limited) uses sub-millimeter wave radar designed to detect vehicles in the Sienna’s blind spots. When the system detects a vehicle in the adjacent lane, it alerts the driver using indicators on the side mirrors. If the turn signal is activated when there is a vehicle in the blind spot of the driver’s intended lane, the indicator on the corresponding mirror will flash. Rear Cross Traffic Alert can be especially helpful alerting the driver of an on-coming vehicle when backing out of a driveway or parking space using an audible and visual alert.
Furthermore, Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) are available on the Sienna Limited Premium as part of the optional Limited Advanced Technology Package. PCS employs radar to help determine if a frontal collision is imminent, and automatically applies the brakes and retracts the front seatbelts to help reduce the effects of a collision. Providing further protection are side-impact door beams that help prevent vehicle intrusion into the cabin. The VDIM coordinates brake control with engine output and steering inputs. Unlike reactive traction systems, VDIM operates proactively. During normal driving, the system works smoothly to enhance control even before the vehicle reaches its limits.
Also included in the package are Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Hill Start Assist Control (HAC). DRCC is designed to keep a pre-set following distance between the Sienna and the vehicle traveling directly ahead of it. If that vehicle slows down, so does the Sienna —and if it speeds back up or changes lanes, DRCC will help the Sienna automatically accelerate back to its set cruising speed. HAC is designed to help minimize backward rolling on steep ascents when the driver moves his or her foot from the brake to the accelerator.
Connected for Safety
The Sienna Limited and Limited Premium grades comes with the added assurance of Safety Connect telematics technology. Its one-year complimentary trial subscription covers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), and Roadside Assistance.
Standard Toyota Care is a complimentary plan covering normal factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

]]>After reading their story, Toyota decided to give the nuns, from the Order of the Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, a vehicle to continue their incredible work. Toyota also is providing a year’s worth of free gasoline and filling the van with toys and food.
Founded in Georgia in 1916, The Franciscan Handmaids run a day nursery, food pantry and other charitable initiatives, along with giving comfort to the sick and dying across New York City. They are one of only three predominantly black orders in the country.
