TMC Exhibits Biotechnology and Greening TechnologiesToyota City, Japan, October 3, 2011—Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) today held an event at its Toyota Biotechnology and Afforestation Laboratory in Aichi prefecture to showcase technologies developed there as part of its biotechnology and afforestation businesses. Technology on display included a newly developed yeast that increases the production yield of cellulosic ethanol bio-fuel, new technologies for the greening of parking lots and walls, and a new “cool-spot creation technology” for simulating and analyzing the effects of greening. Lexus Eco Challenge Urges Students to Improve the EnvironmentTORRANCE, Calif., August 30, 2011 – Over the past four years, the Lexus Eco Challenge, an educational program and contest, has inspired and empowered more than 20,000 middle and high school students to learn about the environment and take action to improve it. For their efforts, more than $3 million has been awarded to students, teachers and schools across the nation.
