TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 12, 2014 – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced plans to conduct a voluntary safety recall of 56 Model Year 2011 Camry vehicles produced at Toyota Motor Corporation’s Tsutsumi Plant in Aichi, Japan and distributed to the US Territories of  Guam and Saipan. TORRANCE, Calif. (November 3, 2014) – Toyota, Scion and Lexus today reported total October 2014 sales results of 180,580 units, an increase of 6.9 percent from October 2013.
 
Highlights include:  
 
  • RAV4, Highlander and SUV sales set October records
  • Camry sales up 14 percent on strength of new 2015 model
  • Lexus posts 12th consecutive year-over-year gains
 
“October vehicle sales were the best for the month in 10 years as an improving economy and lower gas prices drove strong SUV sales,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “At Toyota we also saw a big jump in Camry sales thanks to the successful launch of the new 2015 model.”

FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 3, 2014) -- Tundra driver Kyle Busch’s victory in Friday night’s race at Texas Motor Speedway enabled Toyota to clinch its seventh NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) manufacturer’s championship in 11 years participating in the series.
 
Toyota remains the series’ top manufacturer after previously winning last year’s title (2013) and prior to that a record five straight NCWTS manufacturer’s championships from 2006 to 2010.  Overall, this is the 10th time Toyota has earned a NASCAR manufacturer’s trophy since the start of the 2004 season.  Toyota also earned three consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) manufacturer’s crowns from 2008 to 2010.

Ann Arbor, Mich,. Oct. 31, 2014 - For the second time this season, the Toyota Technical Center Rally Team (TTCRT) hit the stage rally circuit, this time in Houghton, Mich. for the 2014 Lake Superior Performance Rally.

After a confidence building performance in July’s New England Forest Rally, the team, comprised entirely of Toyota engineering team members, headed to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with hopes of continued improvement and gained experience. What they accomplished, however, was a 2nd place finish -- besting the only other OEM rally team and 14 other teams in the process.... more
