Chris Ballinger is Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for Toyota Financial Services (TFS). He also serves as Chief Officer, Strategic Innovation.
Ballinger joined TFS in September 2003 as Vice President of Treasury, overseeing the Financial Risk Management, Sales and Trading, Capital Markets and Cash Management groups. Promoted to Group Vice President in December 2006, he also assumed the responsibility for Global Treasury for Toyota Financial Services Corporation. In 2008, he assumed the additional responsibilities of Finance and Accounting, taking on the Chief Financial Officer role as well. In 2012, TFS was recognized with the Pinnacle Award, given by the Association of Finance Professionals in recognition of excellence in Treasury and Finance. Automotive News
recognized Ballinger as one of the All-Stars in 2013. Ballinger was promoted in 2013 to Senior Vice President. In 2015, TFSC created a new global leadership role, Chief Officer, Strategic Innovation, which Ballinger was appointed to lead.
As TFS’ Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Ballinger reports to Mike Groff, President and CEO.
As Chief Officer, Strategic Innovation, Ballinger helps to guide global TFS strategy to address future market trends and business model requirements. In this role, he reports to Riki Inuzuka, President and CEO of Toyota Financial Services Corporation in Japan.
Prior to joining Toyota, Ballinger served as Assistant Treasurer for Providian Financial, Senior Vice President of Treasury for Bank of America, and Staff Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors under President Reagan.
Ballinger received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Amherst College and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
